What are Beavers?

Our Beaver Colony meets every Thursday evening between 6.15PM & 7.30PM

Beaver Scouts are young people usually aged between six and eight years old. They belong to the first and youngest Section in the Scouting family. Young people can join Beaver Scouts in the three months leading up to their sixth birthday. They can move to the next Section, Cub Scouts, between seven years and six months and eight years six months.

Easily recognised by their distinctive turquoise sweatshirts, Beaver Scouts enjoy making friends, playing games, going on visits and helping others. They usually meet together once a week in a Beaver Scout Colony.

1st & 3rd New Barnet Beaver Colony members enjoy a very exciting and vairied programme,  from visiting fire stations, Aldenham Country Park to baking festive foods and creating master peices of art & crafts in our modern purpose built headquaters.

Anita, Penny & Amy run the Beaver Colony and like all leaders in our group have had an enhanced CRB check & first aid training.   Each & every section of this scout group, Beavers, Cubs & Scouts all operate due to the hard work and dedication of our volunteers.   By joining the Beaver Colony we ask you too to support the group as scouting is much more fun & much more fufilling than just a youth club.
