Unlike many scout groups we enjoy all the perks of owning our own building, which means it's all ours to use, enjoy and store things where and how we like within reason. There is no PCC or similar non scout committee managing the building which can be fantastic sometimes!
It also means it's our job to maintain the building, fund and building work and manage letting it. To date we think we've done a pretty good job and after a lot of hard work with a pen to secure the funding needed and then even more hard work with a tool box and a little professional help along the way we've completed over £45,000 of work. We've had a new roof, wiring, a new kitchen and a lot of painting, a large grassed back garden and a fire alarm system.
The lobby area has doors leading off to the left to the toilets, on the right hand side there's a large kitchen well equipped with a fridge, freezer, oven, hob, microwave along with tea & coffee making facilities. The main hall with two double doors at the end of the lobby offers a good sized versatile room for your event with direct access to our large back garden with a large 12 by 18 meter grassed area.
